Tuesday I got my hair done and man does it ever feel better!
I go to a place down on 17th Ave near down town Calgary called Alta Moda. I have been going there on and off for about 4 years now. It is a salon owned by these 3 Italian brothers and their Mom and their wives do the dying of the hair and what not...so it is literally family run. It is VERY loud in there and I tell ya, when I go there I am thoroughly entertained the WHOLE time I am there. The 3 brothers banter back and forth and they raze the clients...it is quite the place. When they say something they shouldn't (which is most the time) their Mom will speak loudly in Italian to them and you hear them apologize to their Mom...so funny!
David (my hairdresser) and I decided it was time for a change and so he gave me a whole new hair cut. He called it a "shag cut"...meaning it has layers and can be worn messy etc.
I really like the cut and the color...it just feels SO much better!
Niki took these pictures when we went over to see her baby.
Kent and the boys like it as well and they gave me a lot of compliments...so I know it was a good decision to get it done =)
Funny Story: While I was getting my hair done (I was sitting under the blow dryer waiting for my hair to dry) when this little old lady came around giving everyone a piece of fruit cake that she had brought in to share with everyone. Now, I REALLY don't like fruit cake...never have, but I didn't want to be rude and say no as this little old lady was going around and not asking if you wanted a piece...but she was handing them a piece. I was dieing as I didn't know what I was going to do then I thought, well I will take a piece to be polite and hide it under the cape I was wearing and she wouldn't know I didn't eat it and all would be well. NOT...she sat down next to me and was watching me so I actually had to eat it. She kept saying,
"good ya?"
I of course said yes very good...but my gag reflex was freaking out. I was smiling and talking with her trying my best to act like all was well...when I was wanting to go spit out that fruit cake LOL! BLEEEEECH!! But hey, it was worth it cause she was happy that everyone was eating it :)
The fruit bread I ate was very similar to this one...it had apricots and raisins in it. But there were A LOT more raisins in it.
Riccardo (one of the brothers in the salon) came over to me after the lady left and said,
"you are a liar"
and he was laughing at me. I told him I didn't know what he was talking about (I was laughing of course as I did know what he was going to give me a hard time about) and he said pointing his finger at me laughing,
"you are a Mormon and you lied...you lied to that little old lady and told her her fruit bread was good and all the while you were wanting to go spit it out"
...I started laughing and said
"was it that obvious?"
Riccardo said that I actually did a good job hiding it, but he was thoroughly entertained watching me eat the bread and talk to this little old lady and watching me trying to swallow the bread as I am smiling at her and trying to make her happy etc. I told Riccardo that I was going to get blessings for doing that as it made her SO happy that I ate it, so too bad for him...we both had a good laugh and I got teased really bad for it!

You look amazing. Have I said that already? ; D
Darling new look! Love it and you.
Ya fruitcake...no wonder in the olden days they soaked it in rum or some alcohol as it aged. That might have helped it go down!!! Blah.
Good girl for making that little old lady feel so good.
You were brought up right!
