Permanent Makeup

Since I was a teenager I have had to draw in my eyebrows. If you have never had to do this then you probably won't understand what I am going to be talking about.

I have eyebrows, but they are really light and sparse. So therefore I have had to pencil them in. Now if I didn't pencil them in I would look like a potatoe head (my own name calling of myself LOL). I also would sweat in my eyebrows whether I am cold or hot and so therefore I would constantly be having to check them and fill in the bald spots where the eyebrow pencil had wiped off. Is all this too much information? LOL Oh well, I am a sharer ha ha.

Kent's siblings and all of the spouses plus his Mom and his Aunt are all going on a cruise at the end of November together. Humidity, heat and water are your worst enemies when you have to pencil in your eyebrows. So my sister in law Sheri and I decided that we would go get what they call some Permanent Make up put on our eyebrows.

Now, some people may think this is vain of us to do...don't judge us people as you have NO IDEA what it is like on a daily basis to have this problem! ha

We checked out a few different places and decided to go to Lethbridge to get it done as it was WAY cheaper and plus we knew the lady who did it and we have seen her work :)

Sheri lives about 1 hour north of us so she came to my house around 7 a.m. Friday morning (October 7th) and picked me up and off we went down to Lethbridge for our 10 a.m. appointment. The drive down was fun and went by quickly as we talked and had a good time visiting.

Don't get me wrong, we were both scared out of our minds to do this! We didn't know what to expect and the thought of doing this to our faces had us second guessing ourselves the whole way down there.

My sister in law Sheri took this photo while I was getting mine done. And then the brat posted it on facebook without me knowing....NICE!! LOL
Barb getting Permanent Makeup put on my eyebrows.

Louise is the lady who did the procedure for us and owns Beautiful U. She is so fun and did a great job!!

Here is a before and after shot of someone she has done.

She puts numbing cream on your eyebrow area and really it didn't hurt like I thought it was going to. It felt like she was plucking my eyebrows. If I could feel it in some areas then she would just apply more numbing cream and all was good.

It takes about 20 minutes for the consult on shape and color and then about an hour if the tattooing is manually done like ours. They say manually done doesn't smear the pigment as opposed to the electric, I guess like normal tattooing is?

I wish I had taken a before picture, but I didn't so here is the after shot. TA DA!!

It is going to be life changing for me. They are dark right now, but will lighten up 40% with about 5 days. They will soften and blend in that time period. After 2 weeks we will go back down to Lethbridge to have her fill in any spots that need to be filled and make sure they are all good.

I am REALLY happy that I got this done!! I think both our eyebrows turned out great! It was a fun day and well worth it :)

Cole's Award Night

Last week we received a phone call from Cole's school telling us they will presenting Cole with an award on October 5th and can we be there to support him? I said yes of course we can! They wouldn't tell us what the award was for or anything.
Cole's Nanny came to show her support. Cole was happy to have her there.

Nanny and Brynley. Nanny was singing O Canada...and Bryn thought it was great!

Before the Award Ceremony started we sang O Canada and stood up. Brynley wasn't sure what was going on and just kept looking around at everyone and smiling.

Grade 7 Honor Roll Award...
Cole was presented with the Permanent Honor Roll Award for when he was in Grade 7 last year.  When they called his name and presented him with his Award it was a great moment. Seeing him up there made me tear up as he has had a lot of struggles this past year and he conquered a lot of them and even kept his grades up in the mean time!!
They had a big screen up on the wall that projected the kids names who was getting the Award. Cole's name is on the right hand side 3rd from the bottom.

We are VERY proud of Cole and all his hard work!

Wednesday, October 5th was also Brynley's 3rd Birthday. It was a special day for them both and they were happy to share it together!

Brynley attacking Cole with kisses and loves! They were both giggling as she was doing this.

How cute is this picture LOL! It was a great way to end an even greater day!!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY BRYNLEY!!

Our baby girl is now 3 years old...how did that happen?

Bryn's birthday morning started out with an early morning long distance phone call from her Grandpa and Grandma calling from Salt Lake City.
We put them on speaker phone and they sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her...she was one happy girl :) She LOVES talking to "Papa and Mama" on the phone.

Brynley was born October 5th 2008!
As you can see by the smile on her face, she was so excited that it was,

"my Bifday Mommy!"

I love how she says Birthday...she says "bifday."
Bryn LOVES balloons! Plus I was having fun taking her picture too :)

We met some of her cousins at the McDonald's Play Place and had  lunch and the kids played and had a great time. I didn't even think to take pictures of them there...DARN!!

When we came home she fell asleep on my bedroom floor.
A tuckered out Birthday girl!

She was watching her new Barbie movie and playing with all her new Barbies and Princess dollies LOL! She has been having a wonderful day so far :)

Brynley giving her Daddy some loves!

Nanny and Brynley at Cole's Awards Night the evening of her Birthday!

Brynley opening a couple gifts. You can see how tired she is in the bottom right picture...poor girl!
The top left right picture is her saying,

"yeah, I'm 3!!"

Aren't these just the most creative and cute things! They are ice cream cupcakes from DQ.
I thought they were perfect as she had already had a Bday cake at her Bday party this past Saturday. BUT, I was still wanting to sing to her on her actual Birthday so these worked out perfectly....and they were really yummy!!

When I brought Brynley her "ice cream cupcake" she was pleasantly surprised.
Bryn blowing out her bday candles.

We had to re-light her candles 3 times as she kept blowing them out before I could get a picture and before we were done singing Happy Birthday to her LOL!

We all enjoyed our ice cream cupcakes with Brynley.

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MISS BRYNELY!!
We love you so, so much! Life hasn't been the same since you came into our lives...we wouldn't want it any other way.

Bryn's 3rd Birthday party!!

We had a Bday party for Bryn on Saturday, Oct 1st (her actual bday isn't until Wed, Oct 5th). We rented the gymnastics place in town that Bryn goes to and all the kids had a great time there.

Trickt Out Gymnastics Place where we had Bryn's 3rd Bday party!

Lucas (4) and Brynley

How cute are they AND they are wearing matching colors :) Lucas is the son of our friends Britt and Brent...they have 3 very cute boys that came to Bryn's party and Bella lives with them as well.
Bella and Brynley playing nicely...for now! ha ha

All the kids had a great time and got out lot's of energy playing in the gym. They loved running and jumping on the little trampoline onto the things that were there.

The owner (I forget her name) played with the kids and did some activities. She was there the whole time watching and helping make sure everyone did things safely.

They played and played. I think their favorite was jumping on the big trampoline and the little ones.

Tyson had a great time as well!

We played there for 1 1/2 hours and then headed back to our place to open gifts, eat and play some more.

Birthday decorations...
It is tradition for us to put the number of how old the person is turning in the window with balloons...the kids love it!

Gifts...
The birthday girl ready to open her gifts.

Bryn opening a gift from her dog Buddy...look a the look on her face when we told her who it was from LOL! She thought it was great.

Nate asked, "did Buddy really buy that for her?" ha ha

She got A LOT of great gifts and was spoiled by everyone. She was one happy girl!

Brynley LOVES Rapunzel anything...
Aunt Melanie and family gave Brynley a stuffed Pascal toy that is from the movie Tangled. He is Rapunzel's side kick in the movie and Brynley calls him "fruck" LOL I know, I know! She thinks he is a frog so that is why she calls him a "fruck" as that is how she says frog...trust me, we are working on teaching her how to say from properly :)

The funny thing was, as soon as she opened her gift and saw Pascal she placed him on her shoulder instantly just like in the show Tangled how he always sits on her shoulder.

Bryn got a a Rapunzel dress, Rapunzel hair and Pascal...what more could a girl want :)
She was beaming with happiness!!

Look at her looking at Pascal on her should in the top left picture...so funny!

The hair was so long. Anytime she bent over to pick something up her hair would get in the way and she would just giggle and say,

"my Punzel hair funny Mom."

The cake...
Brynley desperatly wanted a Rapunzel cake for her bday. So I ordered a Rapunzel cake (which was really cupcakes underneath) from Walmart. Bryn picked it out and we had ordered it about 5 days before her party. Bryn was SO excited for it that every 5 minutes she would say,

"Mom, Rapunzel cake Mom, pleeeease!!"

Let me tell you, it was a loooong 5 days of hearing that every few minutes.
She has the biggest smile on her face when Daddy brought the cake to her. She blew out the candle before we were done singing Happy Birthday to her as she was so excited! ha ha

She enjoyed her cupcakes as you can see. They were really good.

It was a wonderful party! Thanks to everyone for coming and showing Bryn so much love.
